Poetry is a significant part of the English curriculum at Bassetts Farm Primary School. Listening to and learning poetry begins with rhymes and songs in EYFS and builds as part of our reading and writing curriculum within Years 1 to 6. The children enjoy engaging with poetry and love listening to it being read or performed. We have a poetry progression map which includes set poems for the children to learn and perform by heart.
